Referral criteria / commissioning position

NHS Scarborough and Ryedale Clinical Commissioning Group (SRCCG) does not routinely commission surgical fillers for any indication that may be deemed as a cosmetic procedure.

This commissioning position applies to the use of both natural (e.g. fat, dermis) and synthetic fillers (temporary or permanent) including hyaluronic acid fillers and collagen.

In addition, SRCCG does not routinely commission the treatment of complications arising from the cosmetic use of surgical fillers in private practice.

Referrals for patients who are not eligible for treatment under this policy may be considered on an individual basis where their GP or consultant believes exceptional circumstances exist that warrant deviation from the rule of this policy. Individual cases will be reviewed as per the CCG policy.
