Children’s ADHD and Autism

Autism referrals

GPs should email referrals for CYP autism diagnostic assessment to The Retreat at scrccg.retreatautism@nhs.net using this referral form. The form must be completed fully for The Retreat to accept the referral and unlike the adult autism referral pathway, if the referral form has been completed correctly a screening tool is not needed.

This service is for children and young adults aged four to 18 (any referrals for a child under the age of four should be made through RSS to the community paediatric team at YFT).

You can find additional referral guidance for The Retreat in this presentation.

Should you require further information about The Retreat’s Children & Young People’s Autism Service, they can be contacted on 01904 412551 (Option 3).

ADHD referrals

Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust (TEWV) will provide services for children over 6 years up to their 18th birthday, for an ADHD diagnostic assessment and follow up medication reviews, for those children already diagnosed with ADHD. When referring new children and young people for ADHD to TEWV, practices are advised that they can use the same referral route as CAMHS referrals - through the Scarborough Single Point of Access (SPA).  Please email the same referral form used for CAMHs referrals to: TEWV.NorthYorkshireCamhsreferrals@nhs.net.
