Prescribing of over-the-counter medicines is changing

Doctors in Scarborough and Ryedale will no longer usually prescribe medicines that patients can buy over-the-counter for a range of minor health concerns, including coughs and colds, aches and pains, hay fever and sunburn. There's more information - including a list of the medicines that are affected, here.

Healthcare professionals at your local pharmacy can offer help and clinical advice to manage minor health concerns. If your symptoms suggest it’s more serious they’ll ensure you get the care you need.
